Our internship program is designed to provide you with real-world experience in a chemistry lab and help you build your network before graduation.  This internship position will be reporting to the Lab Supervisor. During the internship, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into manufacturing that can further your progress in your chosen career pathway.

Projects & Tasks

• Update chemical and instrument supply inventory.
• Paperwork transfer to network.
• Keep the retain area organized and fill pallets to be sent offsite as needed.
• Learn about quality control practices/standards and how to maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
• Prepare standard chemical preparations and solutions to support in-process and finished product testing.
• Communicate to production employees the product test results as indicated by the batch operating procedure.
• GC and HPLC calibration as needed for in-process and finished product testing.
• Support Process lab with sample analysis and reaction monitoring on shifts.
• Review Certificate of Analysis and test raw materials as needed for use in the production process.
• Assists in maintaining accurate standard operating procedures for lab personnel.
• Other projects as assigned by the Supervisor.

Prerequisites

• Undergraduate student enrolled in a science-related field of study. Some chemistry lab courses are preferred.
• Is a lab safety champion and good at keeping a neat workspace.
• Computer proficient; with experience in MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Good communication skills: email reports and verbally report findings to management.
