Chemical operators make chemical products by operating processing equipment (reaction vessels, centrifuges, dryers, etc.) while under the guidance of senior operators and a shift supervisor. Operators must follow quality guidelines and procedures to ensure the product meets our customer’s specifications. An effective operator utilizes teamwork skills to problem solve and communicates effectively with their crew. Duties Work accurately from verbal and written instructions. Fill vessels with raw materials. Empty vessels/centrifuges/dryers and package finished products. Be a safety influencer: follow all rules and regulations when handling chemicals and equipment (wearing PPE, following HES protocols) and make sure peers are doing their job safely. Learn and understand the concepts of chemical manufacture and emergency response. Troubleshoot and make corrective actions to adjust for changes in equipment readings. Yes No Essential Requirements of Job • Lift 50lbs Repeatedly • Wear PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, uniform, respirator, and Tyvek suit. • Able to sit or stand for 2-6 hours climb ladders and stairs frequently, bend, stoop, or crouch frequently. • Accurate or correct vision and can differentiate between colors and depth. • Able to hear alarms in emergency. • Able to read and write in English. • Showers are mandatory after your shift and are in a gender specific locker room.
