ChemDesign is looking for a dedicated individual, with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering, for its chemical toll manufacturing plant in Marinette, WI.  This position provides engineering support to know issues identified by operations. Successful execution of this position means on-time process start-ups, equipment reliability, minimal equipment failure-related quality and yield issues, a safe workplace, and happy vendors and customers. Must be able to work and communicate effectively with plant personnel, management, and the maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

Create drawings (PFD, P&ID, Layout) for new processes.
Optimize critical steps of the process.
Define proper line size and material based on compatibility.
Complete TRI valve counts and calculations.
Perform coverage as needed for production start-ups
Aid operations in the troubleshooting process.
Monitor and optimize equipment performance (Dryers, Heat Exchangers, Reactors, Chiller equipment, Centrifuges).
Identify and implement process optimizations to improve batch times and reduce costs. (Energy usage reduction, Raws/Solvent usage reduction, supplies usage reduction, Yield improvements).
Carry out steps for capital projects execution.
Be able to communicate effectively on the status of capital improvement projects to the team.
